LINCOLN, Neb. (Nebraska Athletics) - Pryce Sandfort scored a career-high 32 points and Jamarques Lawrence drained a last-second three pointer to propel the No. 23 Nebraska men’s basketball team to victory over No. 13 Illinois on Saturday.
NU moved to 11-0 (2-0 Big Ten) on the season to remain undefeated and log the best start in program history. The Big Red also extended its nation-leading and school-record win streak to 15 games, dating back to last season.
Sandfort scored 26 of his points in the first half, including the Huskers’ first 15 of the game. Rienk Mast added 17 points, while Lawrence had 14, capped by his buzzer beater to claim the victory. Jared Garcia added 10 points, all of which came in the second half.
