Syracuse, N.Y. – He was supposed to be a gem in Syracuse’s transfer portal treasure chest.
Naithan George, an ACC honorable mention selection after his sophomore season at Georgia Tech, was a coveted point guard when the portal opened last spring. 247sports named him the 50th best player in the portal and the 13th best point guard. Several teams pursued the Toronto native.
George chose the Orange and was named a team captain after he arrived on Syracuse’s campus.
But in his last six games as the SU floor general, George is averaging 5.5 points and four assists per game. He’s shooting 28.2% overall and 15.8% from the 3-point line. He has a total of 24 assists and 20 turnovers during that span.
