DALLAS — Dallas police are investigating a stabbing that left a woman hospitalized Friday in East Dallas.

Officers responded to the 5300 block of Gaston Avenue around 10:15 a.m. on December 12, after receiving a report of a stabbing, DPD said in a news release. According to a preliminary investigation, a female victim was found at the scene suffering from stab wounds.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment; however, her current condition is unknown. Police said a suspect was taken into custody at the scene.

The investigation remains ongoing, according to the Dallas Police Department.
