WOODSTOCK, Vt. (WCAX) - Thousands of visitors flocked to Woodstock for the village’s 41st annual Wassail weekend, a holiday tradition that brings both festive cheer and a significant business boost to the downtown area.
The weekend celebration featured the popular annual horse parade, with visitors lining the streets to watch horses and sleighs make their way through town accompanied by the sound of sleigh bells.
“I think because it’s very traditional, and people just love it, the horses, the sleigh bells through town,” said Beth Finlayson of the Woodstock Area Chamber of Commerce.
Carmen Colon traveled from Connecticut to attend the festivities, making it part of her annual holiday tradition.
