SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Burial sites and memorials across the country honored fallen service members Saturday by placing wreaths on veterans’ graves, a tradition held each year during the holiday season to remember their sacrifice.
One of those ceremonies took place at Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah.
The historic cemetery, known for its centuries-old oak trees and views, is the final resting place of thousands of Savannah residents, including generations of military service members from multiple wars.
Volunteers, veterans’ groups, and community organizations gathered throughout the grounds to lay wreaths at veterans’ gravesites.
