With Kerala's state Assembly elections approaching, the results of the local body polls have placed the Congress-led UDF in a favorable position while challenging the ruling Left Front. The findings also show a promising outlook for the BJP, disrupting the state's traditional two-party system.

The UDF made significant gains, securing four corporations, 54 municipalities, and 505 village panchayats among others, while the LDF and NDA achieved more modest results. The local poll outcomes underscore public discontent with the current administration, influenced by factors such as the Sabarimala case and corruption.

Both the UDF and BJP view these results as momentum-building for the upcoming Assembly elections. Meanwhile, the LDF acknowledges the need for introspection and corrective measure
