EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) -East Lansing police are investigating a homicide that occurred during the early morning hours Sunday at an apartment complex near Michigan State University.

Officers were dispatched to Arbor Glen Apartments, located near the intersection of W. Lake Lansing Road and Abbot Road, at about 1:30 a.m., according to the East Lansing Police Department.

The victim, a male born in approximately 1988, was confirmed dead at the scene by East Lansing Fire Department paramedics.

Police have identified a person of interest, and they are currently being interviewed.

Police say that this was not a random act and that the department does not believe there is an ongoing risk to public safety.
