Irecently attended a lunch-and-learn, courtesy of the Foundation of Onvida Health, that focused on Onvida Health’s robotics surgical technology.
Thanks to the speaker, Dr. Rochelle Gaudet, guests and I learned more about the latest generation of surgical technology available here in Yuma. She could have gone to other larger cities but she was impressed with the state-of-the-art technology available here.
The da Vinci 5 robots offer surgeons 3D visualization of the patient’s anatomy. This means smaller incisions, shorter recovery times and a lower risk of complications.
Dr. Gaudet explained that the system’s advanced haptic technology gives surgeons greater control at their fingertips. Using four robotic arms and high-definition 3D vision, surgeons can make incisions as small as 7 millim
