A woman who feared she may never get to start a family has finally got her wish after becoming a mom to two "twiblings" born less than two months apart.
For many years, Mia Kaercher, 31, and her husband endured fertility challenges and heartbreaking loss. They struggled to find answers as to why they couldn’t conceive, and, as a result, they were encouraged to look into surrogacy instead.
Kaercher, of Las Vegas, Nevada, told Newsweek that surrogacy was their best option to create "the family we dreamed of" for so long. She and her husband discussed it at length and decided to proceed with an embryo transfer in January 2025.
