AUBURN, Calif. (KOLO) - Leaving a box of free marijuana on the sidewalk near a high school is not how you spread cheer, according to a Sunday, Dec. 14, Auburn Police Department Facebook post.

The post was referring to a “Merry Christmas! Free weed!! Organic and cage free” sign with a box filled with 29 mason jars of pot below, the post said.

It was found by a Placer High music boosters Christmas tree fundraiser sign.

“Thank you to the citizen who called it in,” the post said.

The weed was disposed of responsibly, the post said
