KENT, Wash. — A 55-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run collision late Saturday night on state Route 516 near Kent, according to the Washington State Patrol (WSP).
Troopers were dispatched around 11:45 p.m. to state Route 516 just east of Meeker Street after reports of a collision involving a pedestrian. Investigators said a vehicle was traveling eastbound when it struck a pedestrian.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle involved — believed to be a 2022 Honda Pilot — did not stop and continued eastbound after the collision.
The roadway was blocked for approximately 3.5 hours. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the hit-and-run is urged to contact the Washington State Patrol.
