ZACHARY, La. (WAFB) - Five people now face criminal charges, and more than two dozen dogs have been euthanized after investigators uncovered a crime ring spanning multiple cities in the Baton Rouge area.

Senior officials in the Zachary Police Department say two families were involved in drug distribution, money laundering, and dog fighting in multiple cities. Search warrants were issued after detectives spent two months tracking the situation.

Zachary Police officials said they raided a home in the 3400 block of Baker Boulevard, which was being used for the dog fights, training, and breeding.
