A Huntsville man was arrested after a shooting Friday night.
According to Huntsville Police, 45-year-old Cedric Tremel Briggs was charged with discharging a firearm into an occupied residence and into an unoccupied vehicle.
Just before 10 p.m. Friday, officers responded to the 400 block of S. Edgemont Drive for a report of a possible shooting in progress.
When officers arrived, they discovered the front door of a residence had been damaged and an unoccupied vehicle had been struck by gunfire.
Police say there was no indication someone had been shot.
The preliminary investigation revealed Briggs had been involved in a verbal altercation with the victim. Police say the victim began packing her belongings and contacted a friend for help. A confrontation then occurred between that friend
