Heroic Efforts Amidst Chaos as Community Reels from Tragic Fire
Nine people were killed Sunday night after a devastating five-alarm fire ripped through an assisted living facility in Fall River, Massachusetts, leaving at least 30 others hospitalized and a community in mourning.
The inferno erupted around 9:50 p.m. at the facility, with first responders arriving to a chaotic scene described by Fall River Fire Chief Jeffrey Bacon. “They showed up to the scene, obviously fire, smoke and victims screaming for rescue out windows and it makes for a chaotic scene,” Chief Bacon told reporters at a press conference on Monday.
Fifty firefighters, including approximately 30 off-duty personnel, battled the blaze. Their heroic efforts led to the rescue of numerous occupants from the burning building
