BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - A woman is behind bars after she allegedly started two separate house fires at neighboring properties on the same day.

According to the Baton Rouge Fire Department (BRFD), investigators initially arrested Christina Anna Pennington, 45, on July 11 for simple arson and criminal trespass charges in connection with a fire.

Four days later, officials said Pennington is now facing an additional simple arson charge after investigators linked her to a second fire.

Both fires happened on Greenwell Springs Road on Wednesday, May 28.

According to BRFD, the Central Fire Department quickly extinguished a fire at the first home. Later that evening, firefighters responded to a fire coming from a bedroom at the house next door, which they also extinguished.
