LAUDERDALE CO., Ala. ( WAFF ) - Teresa Counce will face 23 brand new cruelty to animal misdemeanor charges, according to court officials.

Altogether, that makes over 110 dogs and 105 misdemeanor charges from the two raids of her property since January 2025.

“This is quite a bit different than the first time I think,” Lauderdale County Assistant District Attorney Marty Newell said. “Number one, because of the stage of the dogs, and number two, because we have other people involved.”

Newell said that the dogs seized this time around were a mix of third-party people’s dogs, in addition to her own.

In January, Teresa Counce was accused of keeping 82 dogs in deplorable conditions . She eventually signed the 82 dogs over in May 2025, and the charges against her were dismissed .
