UNION, Maine —

A teenage boy is charged with murder in the death of a Maine paddleboarder, the Maine Attorney General's Office said.

Sunshine "Sunny" Stewart was found dead two weeks ago after she went paddleboarding on Crawford Pond in Union, Maine.

Court documents obtained by WMTW state the defendant in the case is 17-year-old Deven Young, who will turn 18 in September.

Young, who is from Frankfort, Maine, was arrested without incident at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday in Union. An official familiar with the investigation told ABC News that Young spends vacation time in the Crawford Pond area each summer with his family.

On Friday, Young appeared virtually for his arraignment in Rockland, as he remains held at the Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland.
