A wildfire continues to rage in central Newfoundland, encroaching on Musgrave Harbour to the point where residents were evacuated over the weekend.
In an update provided by forestry officials last night, the fire had grown to 1,700 hectares while sitting about 2 km outside the town.
The road to Aspen Cove and ‘A Days Getaway RV Park’ was closed last night and the public is asked to avoid the general area.
Firefighting crews have been deployed in the sky and on the ground to try and get a handle on the blaze.
