NEW ORLEANS (WLBT) - Five Southern Miss football players have been named to a Preseason All-Sun Belt Conference team.
USM quarterback Braylon Braxton, the reigning SBC Newcomer of the Year at Marshall last season, who also came to Hattiesburg with first-year head coach Charles Huff, was tabbed to the Preseason All-Sun Belt first team offense.
Braxton was also named the Sun Belt preseason Offensive Player of the Year.
Graduate student defensive lineman Brodarius Lewis, defensive back Josh Moten, and return specialist Ian Foster (both at Marshall last season) round out the Golden Eagles selected in the Preseason All-Sun Belt first team.
Returning tight end Kyirin Heath was the lone second-team pick.
Southern Miss was also predicted to finish fifth in the SBC West Division.
