BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) -- Raleigh General Hospital (RGH) was awarded by the American Heart Association for their dedication to stroke care.

According to a press release, RGH was given the American Heart Association's Get With The Guidelines - Stroke Gold Plus quality achievement award for their continuing dedication to giving stroke patients the best treatment according to national guidelines.

Stroke is the fifth highest leading cause of death or disability within the United States, as highlighted within the release.
