WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — Gov. Dan McKee is gearing up for the 36th Annual Governor’s Bay Day celebration.

McKee signed an executive order on Wednesday declaring that the celebration will take place on Sunday, July 27.

Perks of the event include free parking at all state beaches and free round-trip bus service. The public can also take advantage of free saltwater fishing throughout the whole weekend.

"There's nothing like summer in Rhode Island, and I think we're all ready to enjoy our beautiful waters, sandy beaches and abundant fisheries," McKee said. "This Bay Day, I invite Rhode Islanders to head to the beach, drop a fishing line in Narragansett Bay, and experience all of the natural resources the Ocean State has to offer."
