NEW YORK (PIX11) -- While the first day of school is still weeks away, hiring is underway to fill positions across New York City Public Schools for the 2025-26 school year.

There are many non-teaching positions listed on the NYC Public Schools career page that do not require a college degree. Open positions include school aides, community assistants, and family workers.

School aide

Job duties include assisting with clerical work, handling the arrival and departure of children transported to school by bus, and supervising and leading children in daily activities, including entry, dismissal, lunch, and emergency drills.
