NEW YORK (PIX11) – There are sweeping ground delays at all New York City-area airports on Wednesday due to wind, according to the FAA.

Planes at John F. Kennedy are delayed by over an hour and a half. At Newark Liberty International Airport, delays are reaching an hour, according to the FAA.

The agency said LaGuardia Airport has delays of 40 minutes. Wind gusts could reach up to 25 mph in the area, according to PIX11 meteorologists.

Just two days ago, departures were grounded at Newark Airport due to thunderstorms. Hurricane Erin isn't expected to reach the East Coast, but the storm is bringing rough rip and surf currents to the tri-state area.
