TREMONT, the Bronx (PIX11) --- Police are searching for a man accused of torturing and beating his 21-year-old girlfriend to death in the Bronx apartment they shared, authorities said Friday.
Officers found Princesa Encarnacion-Soto bloodied and lifeless in the third-floor stairwell in the building at 2295 Grand Concourse just before 3 p.m. on Tuesday, police said.
The victim was found with multiple stab wounds throughout the body, head trauma, a piece of a knuckle on her finger missing, and slits in her skin underneath her feet, according to court documents.
“She is beaten up so bad that we started the autopsy yesterday, and is still going on,” NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny said at a briefing Thursday.
"The wounds themselves were inflicted for pain, not to kill."
