THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) --- A hit-and-run driver fatally struck a woman while turning into a driveway in the Bronx Wednesday night, police said.

The 44-year-old woman was hit near West 174th Street and McCombs Road in Morris Heights at around 11:45 p.m., according to the NYPD. The victim was rushed to the hospital but could not be saved.

Police said the dark-colored SUV was trying to turn into a driveway into an apartment building near 7173 West 173rd St. when the woman was struck. Sources said the driver then fled into a lot in the back of the complex.

There have been no arrests. The woman has not been identified.
