TROY, Texas — The community continues to show overwhelming support for the family of Killeen Fire Captain Marvin Taylor , who was tragically killed on Mother's Day morning just hours after the birth of his fifth child.
Captain Taylor died when his vehicle was struck from behind by a speeding driver in Austin on May 12. He had just left the hospital where his newborn son was born and was heading to pick up his other children when the crash occurred.
Now, more than two months later, the outpouring of community support shows no signs of slowing down.
"The support's been tremendous," said Killeen Fire Chief James Kubinski. "We have still continued to have all kinds of community members and businesses reach out to hold fundraisers, and any of the proceeds will go to support the family."
