CHICAGO — A passenger in a car that Chicago police say ran a red light and hit another car early Sunday morning on the city's West Side was killed.
According to a preliminary investigation by police, a 20-year-old man was driving east in the 3800 block of West Lake Street, in Garfield Park, in a blue Ford sedan with three passengers — a 22-year-old man and two other 20-year-old men — when he disregarded a traffic signal just before 4 a.m.
The Ford sedan then hit a red Chevy going south and being driven by a 37-year-old woman, with a 35-year-old female passenger, according to police.
The 22-year-man riding in the Ford sedan was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The 20-year-old driver and the two 20-year-old passengers were taken to an area hospital in fair conditio
