BARRINGTON, Ill. — Authorities say they have recovered more than 70 stolen home appliances and a large number of homemade explosives following a search at a home in unincorporated Barrington.

Jeffery Hendon, Jr., a 36-year-old resident of unincorporated Barrington, has been charged with three felonies, including online sale of stolen goods, theft over $10,000, and unlawful possession of explosives, according to officials from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say the charges were handed down following a search of Hendon's home on Thursday.

The investigation began after authorities learned that a man in unincorporated Barrington was allegedly using social media platforms to sell brand-new appliances at unusually low prices.
