PHOENIX — Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes is defending his handling of what's believed to be an Iran-related cyberattack on his elections website.
Fontes, the state's top elections officer, said on this weekend's "Sunday Square Off" that he was concerned the attack would be politicized at the state and federal levels if he shared information.
"I just can't trust that this administration takes election security seriously, versus using it for political theater," Fontes said.
Fontes didn't contact the Trump Administration's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, he said, nor did he debrief the state's political parties or candidates.
