ROCHESTER, N.Y. (KTRE) - Former Central Heights Blue Devil Duke Ellis had two hits and scored twice in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre’s 8-7 win over the Rochester Red Wings on Sunday.
The 27-year old got the start in center field and batted ninth.
Ellis went 2-for-4 with two runs scored. In the third, Ellis singled into center field and came around to score on a home run by Jesus Rodriguez to put the RailRiders up 3-0. In the fourth, Ellis singled again into left field and came in to score following another Rodriguez home run. In Friday’s contest against the Red Wings, Ellis went 4-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored.
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre is 59-39 on the year and sit in second place in the INT East Division. The RailRiders return home on Tuesday to begin a series with the Nashville Sounds.
