OLD ORCHARD BEACH, Maine — Two women have died following a camper explosion and fire at Powder Horn Campground in Old Orchard Beach on Saturday, according to the Office of State Fire Marshal.

The explosion occurred around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday at the campground, located at 48 Cascade Road. Emergency crews from Old Orchard Beach Fire and EMS responded to the scene and found two adult women with severe burn injuries. Both victims were transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland, where they died from their injuries on Sunday.

The victims have been identified as 58-year-old Alesia Ventura-Large of Marlborough, Massachusetts, and 57-year-old Nancy Pilsch of Leominster, Massachusetts.
