MONTVILLE, N.J. (PIX11) — A New Jersey bus driver is being accused of leaving a student behind in a bus yard for hours on end, according to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office.

It's alleged that a four-year-old special needs student was left on a Valley View Elementary School bus parked in a bus yard for roughly two-and-a-half hours on July 10, officials said.

School staff noticed the child never arrived at school that day and contacted the parents, who told staff the student boarded the morning bus.

The child was eventually found on the bus parked in the bus yard and taken to a local hospital with an elevated heart rate and low blood pressure.

After Montville Police investigated the situation, 61-year-old bus driver Frank J. Blair was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
