The state of Monagas commemorated the 71st anniversary of the birth of Commander Hugo Chávez, a man who changed the history of Venezuela, as expressed by National Representative Irwing Monteverde during the laying of a wreath to commemorate this important date.

The event was attended by the high political leadership of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) in Monagas, along with representatives of social movements, youth, and the People's Power.

"Today we are here, in Hugo Chávez Square in Maturín, celebrating the 71st birthday of our Eternal Commander, filled with enthusiasm for the great victory of the Venezuelan people in yesterday's election, Sunday, where we elected our mayors and councilors."
