SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - On July 26, officers with the Shreveport Police Department responded to the 2800 block of Anna Street in reference to a juvenile complaint.

Upon arrival, officers located a 15-year-old female with visible bruising and scratches across her body.

Detectives with the department’s Youth Services Bureau were contacted and initiated an investigation. As a result, Lula Shine and Jackquenette Hopkins were arrested. They were both charged with one count of cruelty to a juvenile.

The Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) was immediately notified and has launched its own investigation into the matter.
