State officials are taking another step on the proposed 50-mile North-South Corridor they hope will connect Apache Junction and Florence – if they ever get the money to build it.
The Arizona Department of Transportation is seeking public comment as it begins engineering and environmental study for the 31-mile southern segment of the corridor, also called State Route 505, between Arizona Farms Road in Florence and I-10 near Eloy.
“The North-South Corridor is intended to improve the transportation network by accommodating the current and future population, improving access and regional mobility, providing an alternative to I-10, improving north-to-south connectivity and integrating with the region’s transportation network,” ADOT said in a release.
