ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. – One person is in custody for an attempted armed robbery and shooting this past weekend in St. Charles.

According to the St. Charles Police Department’s probable cause statement, the incident took place on the evening of July 27. A more specific time and location were not provided.

Police said the victim, a juvenile known locally as a musician, attended a party in a public space in the city. Approximately 30 people were present at the party.

At some point during the evening, police said Travion Swope, a fellow musician, approached and greeted the victim. Toward the end of the evening, Swope and four other people surrounded the victim, brandished guns, and demanded the victim’s property.
