TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - Day one of the 55th Texas State Open at the Cascades Country Club in Tyler is officially in the books.

And while the Colorado native Chris Korte leads the way after 18 with a day one 62, Bullard’s Blake Elliott and former Dallas Cowboys Quarterback and CBS Analyst Tono Romo both hit the clubhouse under par.

Elliott (-4) is not the only East Texans taking the teebox for the Texas State Open.

Four other players who all call East Texas home were listed in the field, with Tyler’s BJ Waters (+7), Flint’s Seth Murphy (+1), Sulphur Spring’s Trevor Norby (E), and Lindale’s Mason Aldredge (-1).

And with the Cascades hosting the Texas State Open for the eighth year in a row, it gives these East Texans a chance to add a little extra support to the bag.
