Despite the absence of Mayor Andrea Sorce and Vice Mayor Peter Bregenzer, a special closed Vallejo City Council session meeting was conducted just short of 24 hours after a request from Councilmembers Tonia Lediju, Alexander Matias and Helen Marie-Gordon to provide direction to City Manager Andrew Murray on how to handle recent allegations made against City Attorney Veronica Nebb.

Councilmember Charles Palmares called for the closed session at a different time and date, due to the absence of Sorce and Bregenzer. A member of the audience, Daniel Boone, started a chant of, “All seven (council members) should give direction. All seven should give direction.”

Marie-Gordon, Matias, Lediju in person, coupled with J.R. Matulac virtually, disagreed and a 4-1 vote was made to meet in closed sessi
