Coronation Street legend Simon Gregson has affirmed his commitment to the soap, confessing that for him, it was "never about ambition".

The actor is renowned for his portrayal of Steve McDonald in the ITV drama, having first graced the Corrie cobbles over three decades ago in 1989.

Steve has been involved in a fair share of dubious activities, but has evolved into more of a comic figure over time. His poor judgement could also account for his numerous remarriages on the show - having tied the knot seven times with five different women.
