MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) -- Seventh District Congressman Russell Fry and US Secretary of Labor Lori Chavez-DeRemer visited the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce Wednesday to speak to local reporters before visiting with businesses along the Grand Strand and Pee Dee areas.

The two politicians were visiting local businesses to discuss innovation and manufacturing. DeRemer is currently on her 50-state “America at Work” listening tour.

News13 asked to join the two on their business visits but was denied due to security concerns, according to Fry’s office.

During the meeting with reporters, the two spoke about the success of the American economy and workforce under the Trump administration, specifically in regard to the promises the president made while campaigning regarding immigration
