O’NEILL, Iowa (KTIV) - A Northeast Nebraska hospital is in line to receive millions of dollars in federal funding as part of the appropriations process in Congress.

Nebraska Sen. Deb Fischer says the Fiscal Year 2026 Labor, Health, and Human Services Appropriations Act includes $3.5 million for the City of O’Neill in Holt County.

That money will go to replace the boiler and water heating systems at Avera St. Anthony’s Hospital. That hospital was damaged last October by an explosion at a nearby church building.

This announcement isn’t a guarantee, as the appropriations bill still has to pass the full Senate and House intact before the money will reach O’Neill.
