LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Lauren Thiele defeated Brooke Bream in the 102nd Nebraska Women’s Match Play Championship finishing 1 Up after the 18 holes.

Bream and Thiele are teammates on the Nebraska Women’s Golf team with Bream being a Senior and Thiele a Junior.

Lauren is now the 3rd golfer in her family to win the tournament. Her sister Lindsey won it in 2023 and her other sister Hannah won the event back in 2016.

There are 5 Thiele sisters and they have all won various tournament on the Nebraska Golf Association Calendar.

In the final match, Bream held a 2 hole advantage after the front 9. Thiele was able to win 4 holes on the back 9 helping her secure the win.
