NEW YORK (PIX11) -- A gunman who killed four people in a New York City office before taking his own life had over 800 rounds of live ammunition in his possession, according to an NYPD spokesperson.

The spokesperson also noted investigators have uncovered dozens of discharged shell casings and bullet fragments from the crime scene.

Shane Tamura, 27, of Las Vegas, walked into a Midtown Manhattan skyscraper on Monday and opened fire, police said.

Tamura double-parked a BMW while armed with a rifle and then approached the skyscraper, walked into the building, and then opened fire, shooting an NYPD officer as he entered the building.
