WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Friday is the third and final day of National Transportation Board hearings on the collision of American Airlines Flight 5342 and an Army helicopter in January.

All 67 people aboard both aircraft died. Flight 5342 departed from Wichita and was seconds away from landing at Washington, D.C.’s Reagan Airport when an Army Blackhawk helicopter flying at low altitude struck the airplane.

Flight 5342 crashed into the Potomac River.

Investigators spent more than 10 hours on Thursday questioning the military, the FAA and other aviation professionals as part of the ongoing NTSB hearing into a deadly midair collision.
