NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - We’re getting information about a student who was found with a handgun at North Augusta High School.

It happened Thursday just after 1 p.m., according to the North Augusta Department of Public Safety.

Richmond County sheriff cracks down on enforcing youth curfews

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is laying out new curfew protocols for teens.

Officers were set to conduct a weapons check but got a report of three students running into the men’s restroom in the English hallway.

An assistant principal and officer checked the restroom and found a silver revolver with a black handle.

Four students were questioned, and one juvenile fell under suspicion as being responsible, according to authorities.
