These 160 or so city students who celebrated their last day at the Bobadilla Summer Soccer Academy on Thursday morning won’t have the typical How I Spent My Summer Vacation stories to share when school restarts.
Rather, these kids, 8-15, can talk about the array of community projects in which they participated – ones designed to foster a sense of civic pride and a deeper connection with the city in which they’re growing up.
