RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - The Grand Sierra Resort (GSR) issued a statement to thank its guests, staff, and the Reno-Sparks community for its support after the mass shooting incident at the casino on Monday, July 28.

“Our Grand Sierra Resort family has been humbled by the outpour of compassion you have shown since Monday’s tragedy,” according to the Friday, Aug. 1, statement from GSR. “While we operate as a resort, we are, first and foremost, part of this great community, and when it mattered most, Reno-Sparks showed up for us.”

GSR said it is grateful to law enforcement, first responders, civic leaders, and its team members whose swift, coordinated efforts safeguarded so many.
