SAVANNAH, Ga. — Celebrity chef Paula Deen and former Food Network star is closing her last Georgia restaurant after 36 years in business, according to a post from the celebrity chef's restaurant.

Deen's The Lady and Sons restaurant on Congress Street in Savannah closed its doors on Thursday, closing the only Peach State restaurants owned by the Georgia-based restaurant founder and chef.

The Lady & Sons , which has been in operation for 36 years, closed suddenly. They also closed their other restaurant, the Chicken Box , on West Saint Julian Street.

"Hey, y’all, my sons and I made the heartfelt decision that Thursday, July 31st, was the last day of service for The Lady & Sons and The Chicken Box," the post read.
