A 26-year-old man has been rushed to hospital after being stabbed close to a town hall in east London. The man was found with stab injuries at around 11pm last night on Barking Road , reportedly near Newham Town Hall. His injuries are believed to be neither life-changing nor life-threatening.

Police have yet to arrest anyone in connection with the incident. They have appealed to the public to help them in their enquires. There will be increased patrols in the area while police try to find the person behind the attack.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police Service said: "Police were called at 2 22:52hrs on Friday, 01 August to reports of a stabbing in Barking Road, E6. Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended and found a 26-year-old man suffering stab injuries.
