NORFOLK, Neb. (KTIV) - The Norfolk, Nebraska, Police Division says one of its officers, Joshua Scholte, is facing a charge of driving under the influence.

At about 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2, an on-duty Norfolk police officer was contacted by Joshua Scholte, who was off-duty at the time.

The division says Joshua Scholte was near the intersection of Maple Avenue and 18th Street, in northwest Norfolk, and he was highly intoxicated. Police also say he had been involved in a disturbance with his spouse.

The Norfolk police officer responded, notifying a supervisor of the situation, and determined Joshua and his spouse, Jordan Scholte, had consumed alcohol and had operated a motor vehicle earlier that night.
